<p><span lang="EN-US">A naming is usually an agreement result that functions to recognize an object or living thing with a unique and distinctive context. This research aims to reveal the meaning of villages naming in Pesanggaran district, Banyuwangi Regency. The villages included Pesanggaran, Sumberagung, Sumbermulyo and Sarongan. The method used in this study was a qualitative descriptive method. The sources of this research were interviews and observations from related people, such as village leaders and the village community who are considered to know the village naming process. Based on the study results, the data were analyzed in terms of culture (anthropology) and language (linguistics) which are directly related to the origin of village naming through language and community conditions. This is a form of future hopes which manifests as a prayer in the past that occur as identities or symbols. These results show that the village meaning is not only as a linguistic symbol, but also as an identity that becomes a benchmark in the past as a historical form of the origin of naming that is realized as an expectation and environmental conditions that occur in the surrounding community which currently depends on natural conditions that they have lived from the past to the present day</span></p>Dana Dwi Nugraha

<p><em>The research aims to explain the types of errors made by VIII grade students of Junior High School State 4 Candipuro in writing recount texts.This type of research is descriptive quantitative. The data is from 30 students’ essays. Data are collected from the results of the student errors in writing the recount text. After collecting data, all errors are identified in several grammatical categories. After being identified, errors are explained to find the source of the error, then classified into the surface strategy taxonomy. The research revealed that the learners committed five types of gramatical errors made by students in their essays, and the five errors are tenses, plural form, article, preposition,subject-verb agreement.Then classified into surface strategy taxonomy, name lyo mission, addition, miformation and misordering. The common errors that aredone by VIII grade students of SMP 4 Candipuro were omissions of tenses.this research also showed that the errors mostly resulted from different linguistic principles of Indonesian and English ( interlingual transfer), and partly from the faulty of overgeneralization of english rules (intralingual transfer). The overt influences of Indonesian to English as well as the generalization of English rules can be used as a reference for teachers and improve teaching techniques. which in turn, can help them to apply the more appropriate to overcome the foreign language learners’errors of the students.</em></p> <p> </p>Rizka FitriaYuliana ijhes

<p>Character education of students is the goal desired by all boarding school caretakers because with character education students are expected to have good personality and character that can even be implemented in daily life, in the form of words, attitudes and behavior. This study aims to describe and analyze the character education of five soul-based students at Shofa Marwa Islamic Boarding School Jember, both want to analyze the constraints in character education based on the five souls of students and the strategy of Shofa Marwa boarding school in character education based on the values of the five souls. This study uses a qualitative approach to phenomenology by observing the life history of FGD and documentary interviewees.</p> <p>The results showed that character education in the boarding school of Shofa Marwa besides internalized through vision and mission was carried out through the study of the Yellow Book, dissipated in the form of material interpretations jalalain, hadith arbain, hadith riyadushholihin, monotheism, akhlaq and nashoihul ibad, ta'limmuta'allim and others In addition, the formation of the character of students is also done through the five souls of the students, namely the soul of sincerity, the soul of simplicity, the spirit of independence, the spirit of ukhuwah and the free spirit of responsibility. The values of the five souls of students are instilled not only through lectures and recitation, but the five souls are directly applied to students in their daily lives. The obstacles in instilling character education based on Pancajiwa santri are, firstly santri backgrounds, santri backgrounds that are different from economic, socio-cultural backgrounds and religious understanding backgrounds, the results of the study show that the kyai and heri have special strategies in character-based santri education the five souls of the students, namely with the bottom up and top down approach, students are always involved in making policies and implementing the policies of students to what should be done to students who do not obey the rules.</p>Hamdanah

<p>This study aims to determine the pattern of character education for students conducted by four</p> <p> </p> <p>categories of superior elementary schools in the city of Padang, West Sumatra. This study uses qualitative methods through a case study approach (qualitative case study design). The source of research data was taken from twelve informants consisting of principals, class teachers, Islamic Education teachers, art teachers and selected sports teachers from four primary schools using a</p> <p> </p> <p>purposive technique. The research data was taken through in-depth interviews to all informants. The results of the study indicate that there are</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>eight important themes about the pattern of the implementation of effective character education carried out on students in these four schools. The eight themes are carried out through: (1) learning material; (2) school regulations (discipline, concern for the environment, responsibility); (3) science competitions between students (creative, fond of reading, curiosity); (4) award-winning events for students (respecting, racial work, democratic, caring); (5) warning of national day (national spirit, love for the homeland, respect, caring); (6) practices of worship and spiritual guidance (honest, religious, responsible); (7) Scouting activities (creative, socially concerned, hard work, honest, friendly, democratic peaceful love); (8) the existence of talent and music classes (creative and hard work, respect).</p>editor ijhesEngkizarFuad Anwar

<p style="font-weight: 400;">Community Based Tourism (CBT) is a tourism development concept, which aim to increase the contribution or participation from the society. It is same line with creative industry, community-based tourism could contribute a benefit to push the economy regional improvement and the economic self-sufficiency of society in the village. The problem of community-based tourism in Situbondo Regency still impress the negative responses from the tourists. This research is done to observe how to manage community-based tourism in supporting the creative economy in Situbondo Regency. This research was done in three tourist destinations which is managed by the society around the Situbondo Regency, East Java. The model of the research was usedqualitative method. The selection of the research objects were using purposive sampling technique. The research informen consisted of tourism staffs, public figures, the village apparatuses, department of tourism staff in Situbondo regency, and the society around the research location. The research data were collected through the observation, depth-interview, and documentation. The data collection have been analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis by interactive model. The result of the research showed that the managing of community based tourism have run as the community based tourism principles,although it could not yet contribute optimally.. The integration of community-based tourism and creative economy will be implemented into the tourism development program until it will be able to support the creative economy development in Situbondo regency. This research finds the involvement of the local government in managing community based tourism. The participation of the local government could encourage the community based tourism development continuously, so it will be able to push the creative economy and economy self sufficiency from the local society.</p>Sri YuniatiDjoko SusiloDwi Windradini
