MEDICAL WASTE MANAGEMENT IN INDONESIA
Abstract
The hospital is an institution that provides complete individual health services. Apart from having a positive impact, the services provided by the hospital also have a negative impact. The positive impact is increasing the degree of public health, while the negative impact is waste from hospitals that can cause disease and environmental pollution if disposed of without prior treatment. The purpose of this study is to find out the implementation of solid medical waste management at Koesnadi Hospital and to analyze whether there are differences in the implementation of the medical waste management system at Koesnadi Bondowoso Regional Hospital with the Minister of Environment and Forestry Regulation Number: P.56 / Menlhk-Setjen / 2015 concerning Procedures and Requirements. Technical Management of Hazardous and Toxic Waste from Health Service Facilities. The research was carried out at Koesnadi Hospital. This type of research is descriptive research using a qualitative approach. The results showed that the implementation of the solid medical waste management system starting from the sorting process to the solid medical waste processing process at Koesnadi Hospital was already good but not fully in accordance with the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number: P.56 / MenLHK-Setjen / 2015 concerning procedures. and technical requirements for the management of hazardous and toxic waste from Health Care Facilities
