Abstract

Background: Directly Observed Treatment Shortcourse (DOTS) Strategy, often gets obstacles that cause less maximum results from the achievement of tuberculosis treatment. Starting from political commitments and unclear funding, mickhroscopic examinations that do not meet standards, improper treatment, availability of drugs that do not meet the needs and record keeping and reporting. This study aims to elaborate and describe the Ptreatment of Tuberculosis Cases with the Use of DOTS Strategies in Talang Banjar Health Center in Jambi city.

Method: This research was Qualitative Deskrictive Research conducted in January-February 2021. Determination of informants technique with Purposive Sampling. Data retrieval were done by in-depthinterviews, observations, and document review. data processing was assisted by sofwere NVivo to reduce data, presentation of data, draw conclusions, and data analysis was done by triagulation of sources and data.

Results: The results of the study showed that the DOTS strategy in medicine runs in accordance with existing standards but there are several obstacles that make treatment not work properly, ranging from microscopes to testing damaged sputum and human power subers that do not understand computer pre-ranking optimization and barriers in internet access for reporting.

Advice: It was recommended to the Health Center to propose the procurement of new microscopes and debriefing for officers in computer optimization to the city health office. In order to maximizethe achievement of tuberculosis treatment.
