COST OF ILLNESS ANALYSIS OF CANCER BREAST WITH MASTECTOMY ACTIONS AT PROF. DR. MARGONO SOEKARJO HOSPITAL, INDONESIA
Abstract
Mastectomy is most often done as a therapy for breast cancer. It has a large cure rate but also mastectomy causes a large economic burden to patients and hospitals. This study aims to calculate the cost of illness of breast cancer in BPJS patients with a mastectomy in Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital. This quantitative research used a descriptive design, a sample study with 30 patients. The data sources used were primary data obtained from interviews with questionnaires and secondary data obtained from the medical and financial records section at the Prof. Dr. Margono Soekarjo Hospital. Data analysis was done by the univariate cost of illness calculation. The results showed that the total cost of illness is IDR 311.133.434,00 with an average of IDR 10.371.114,00. The lowest cost of illness for respondents is IDR 5.023.500,00 while the highest cost of illness for respondents is IDR 18.772.800,00. The cost of illness is obtained from direct costs and indirect costs. The average direct cost is IDR 9,774,270.00 and the average indirect cost is IDR 596.884.078,00.
