THE EFFECT OF PRAYER MOVEMENTS ON REDUCING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE IN PREGNANT WOMEN WITH PREECLAMPSIA
Abstract
Preeclampsia/eclampsia is a major cause of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality in the world, especially in Indonesia. In developing countries the frequency of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia is reported to range from 0.3 percent to 0.7 percent. Whereas in developed countries the rate of eclampsia is smaller, namely 0.05 percent to 0.1 percent. Preeclampsia and eclampsia deaths are direct obstetric deaths, namely deaths as a direct result of pregnancy, childbirth or due to complications of rescue measures up to 42 days postpartum (Djannah, 2010). This study aims to see the effect of prayer movements to reduce high blood pressure in pregnant women with preeclampsia. The research method used is literature review with the data source used in the form of secondary data obtained from the Google Scholar database with a span of 10 years. In order to obtain 5 scientific articles that can be analyzed. The results showed that the prayer movement is one of the non-pharmacological treatments that can reduce high blood pressure.Keywords: preeclampsia, high blood pressure
